Needle & Thread Test!

I know the title seems a bit cliche but I did a needle and thread test today at work. The test is supposed to tell you what gender of baby you are having and how many. I thought at first that it just couldn't be true but it even predicted peoples past pregnancies.

Here is how you do it:
Get a needle and thread
Thread the needle
Ask the person to lay down
Put the needle end right above the person's belly button
Hold the other end of the string very still
Then the needle will either move in a circular motion (it's a GIRL) or back and forth (it's a BOY)!!
The needle will all the sudden stop and start again if you are having more than one.

It was a bit scary but I wonder if it is going to be true.

Mine predicted that I was going to have 4 children: girl, girl, boy, then another boy. AHHH!!

I am SO glad that my seeester (sister-in-law) introduced me to Real Simple. This is one of the magazines that I just can't throw away. They have so many helpful tips for around the house, cute organizing and decorating ideas, and so much more.

I just received my December issue in the mail today. It's always exciting to open up the mail box and see my Real Simple.
*Rachel, you totally have to know what I'm talking about.

Anyways, here is some fun gift ideas from Decembers issue.

ENJOY!

a bit of a need.

I have been needing to find a magazine rack because my magazines are starting to accumulate underneath my coffee table in the living room. I found a few on etsy but they are all kind of expensive due to shipping.

This one is kind of cute!

This one has some character.

This one is just an old freezer tray. I think I could find one of these at my grandmas. :)

Any thoughts?

Things to Ponder...

~When you have had ample time to do something, why isn't it done?

~Aren't toothpicks a simple invention.

~Wouldn't it be nice to be able to buy clothes whenever you wanted or would you be start to become selfish?

~Isn't it kind of neat how people copy people? It keeps the world spinning :)

~I am going to start to be more edifying.

~Do bumble bees have relationships?

missing him

For some reason when my husband is away, listening to Frank always makes me feel happy. I also think it makes me miss my hubby even more. My husband is traveling with SuperStart!. SuperStart! is an event for preteens that CIY puts on to show kids about Jesus. Matt, my husband, plays bass guitar for the band. This is his passion and joy but sometimes it's a little hard for me with the distance.

Anyways....

I'm so happy to start listening to Frank's Christmas music! Yay! I love the holidays!

Happy Halloween!

Today has been a wonderful day! I slept in with my wonderful husband and then went and mowed for my grandparents. Then we went to my parents house and made cute Halloween food and handed out candy. Yum! We also watched Dawn of the Dead. Scary!

Take Two.

These pictures are from our second round of taking wedding pictures. We were really thankful we took the time to go out again and take some more pictures while there was no stress going on!!

{new blog title}

I named my blog "Needle and Thread" because I want my blog to be a place where people see my life one stitch at a time. I first thought of naming my blog "quilted" but I decided to go with this. :)

difficult discoveries.

I am employed at an organization that is called Christ in Youth. They do huge events all over America for all different age groups. I work full time in the summer and part time in the fall/spring time. So now that I am part time and married, I need a hobbie. Any suggestions? Oh wait no one knows I have a blog...:)

Well, I have thought of a few myself.

Photography-haven't decided if this is overated and being over-used
Decorating-you need a lot of money to do this
Organize my house-only so much you can do
Maybe knit or cross-stich or maybe I could ask for a sewing machine and start making something. I would have to put my thinking cap on for this one.
Blogging-this could take up some of my time
Reader-I really need to start reading more than People magazine and status updates on facebook

Okay, so enough brainstorming. I feel like I'm in Speech class brainstorming for speeches.

Random thought of the day: What would happen if I deleted my facebook?...more boredom?

righty o
kassie.

the little things in life.

Okay, so today was an okay day. Had supper with my fam and got to play half of a game of scrabble with my man. My wonderful father made homemade lasagna. YUMO! I really have an ambition to start blogging for some odd reason. I really have never liked to write or tell people about my day. I always want to here about other peoples days and read their blogs.

As my first blog, I want to worn you of how horrible my grammar is. I barely passed English class and get nervous to write out emails out work. I know. I know. I'm a married women going to college and should have my grammar down by now. Well, I don't and it is a little embarressing but I can maybe do a math problem. haha

Oh. Another thing to mention, I am so scatter brained that sometimes I don't even know what I am trying to say. This blog is really for me to improve on my spelling, grammar, and communicaton skills with other people.
